Loaves and Fishes, which provides a daily meal service at dining sites across the Twin Cities, distributed coats and other winter clothing at its Bloomington site last month.
The Dec. 11 meal service at Creekside Community Center provided new and used coats for adults and children, hats, mittens, gloves, socks, long underwear and shirts to diners. Donations for the distribution were provided by the Eden Prairie Rotary Club and Immanuel Lutheran Church of Eden Prairie. Members of the congregation assisted with the distribution, under the organization of the family of Jackie Terauds.
Items not distributed in Eden Prairie were distributed at other dining sites in the metro.
Established in 1982, Loaves and Fishes serves approximately 2,700 free meals daily at more than 70 sites in seven Minnesota counties.
