Healthy Menu Guide
The Loaves and Fishes Healthy Menu Guide is written to help our 375 volunteer serving teams with information on creating and serving healthy, nutritious meals. It is also meant as an overall guide to individuals and other hunger-relief agencies in helping to provide information on nutrition, healthy menus, and other guidelines in serving good meals. Meal Program Study - Complete Report
With support from The Saint Paul Foundation and United Way’s Twin Cities Hunger Initiative, Loaves and Fishes sponsored a meal program study/research project identifying the 20 largest meal programs in the Twin Cities metro area. The study looked at how many meals are being served by the largest programs, what other services are being provided, some of the “best practices” going on, and many of the demographics that distinguish one meal program from another. Walk to End Hunger - 2011 Event Recap Report
The Walk to End Hunger is an annual event on Thanksgiving morning to promote the hunger-relief efforts going on in the Twin Cities to alleviate people from being hungry. The event includes numerous agencies working together to ultimately eliminate hunger altogether. Working with agencies included in United Way’s Hunger Initiative, the event brings together thousands of people at the Mall of America who want to help their communities end hunger.
