Loaves & Fishes Overview

Loaves & Fishes is a nonprofit organization with a mission to serve free, healthy meals to Minnesotans where the need is greatest. We are guided by our vision that all people – regardless of socioeconomic, cultural, religious, or ethnic background – deserve to meet their basic needs for food, dignity, and respect. We meet hunger through multi-faceted meal programming including community meal sites, summer meals and snack for students, street outreach, and partnering with local nonprofits to provide meals for their clients. https://www.loavesandfishesmn.org/

Position Summary

In conjunction with the MN Department of Education, we partner with local organizations to accommodate youth while school is out of session. Through the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), Loaves & Fishes brings fresh produce, balanced meals, and snacks to children during summer break. Our summer interns play an integral role in our summer programming through assisting with SFSP meal preparation, distribution, and site supervision at select sites. Interns work closely with program chefs and staff to ensure that meals and snacks are prepared and delivered on time, that select sites run smoothly and efficiently, and that every guest has a positive experience.
