During the school year, free and reduced-price breakfast and lunch programs are a lifeline for hundreds of thousands of Minnesota children. It’s not a luxury. For many kids, it’s the most reliable meal of the day. But when the last bell rings, that lifeline disappears, and families already running on thin margins are left to absorb the difference.
At Loaves & Fishes, we serve free, nutritious meals all summer long. No income verification. No ID required. No questions asked. Just a warm meal and a welcoming table, because we believe that’s what every neighbor deserves. That’s what your support makes possible.

About The Match
At Loaves & Fishes, our relationship with St. Mark’s runs deep. For years, a faithful group of their volunteers came monthly to our meal sites. Not just to serve food, but to pull up a chair and share a meal with our guests.
When St. Mark’s made the decision to close after 70 years, they didn’t just lock the doors and walk away. They made a few final decisions in the same spirit they’d always lived by, one of which was to donate final assets to various community organizations, one of them being Loaves & Fishes.
That’s where the $115,000 match generously comes from.
For every $5 donated, we can now provide 12 meals.

Financial contributions are made to Loaves & Fishes between July 1 and August 31, 2026.

St. Mark’s gift matches all donations made to Loaves & Fishes dollar for dollar, up to $115,000.
