Darlene comes from Aitkin Manor, which provides Low Income-Affordable apartments to senior citizens, with her friend Donna for every community meal night. They bring meals back home to neighbors who can’t get out. They usually pick up seven meals.

“They wouldn’t have suppers if it wasn’t for the program,” said Darlene.

She said it especially helps at the end of the month when money starts to come up short.

“This is a great program. Loaves & Fishes goes out of their way to help everybody,” said Darlene. “Children and adults alike in this community count on this meal. The food is always excellent and the volunteers are always so kind and polite.”
