Monday to Friday 8:30 – 2:00 PM (June 1st, 2023 – August 31st, 2023)

This position requires a personal vehicle to transport food, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record.

Position Summary

The SFSP Intern supervises site activities involving people who are hungry and generally from neighborhoods with socio-economic issues, community volunteers, and staff who are acting on the agency’s mission.

The SFSP Intern works with other interns and volunteers to create and serve guests nutritious summer lunches. The intern oversees running the site from start to finish.

Primary Duties

  • Responsible for overseeing meal preparation by volunteers. Must be able to conduct all meal planning and preparation independently or with minimal volunteer assistance in the absence of volunteer teams.
  • Ability to develop and train volunteers and to maintain communication with all meal site volunteers.
  • Provide a welcoming atmosphere for guests of all backgrounds.
  • Comply with organization requirements to collect and report necessary statistics.
  • Perform administrative duties including submitting any necessary paperwork to the Central Office in a timely manner.
  • Manage inventory at the meal site and maintain site cleanliness and safety.
  • Communicate with Central Office staff and attend weekly intern meetings.
  • Represent Loaves & Fishes in a positive manner while always promoting program mission and vision.
  • Duties as assigned.
